So I got health insurance about 6 months ago - BCBS. As a 38-yr-old female with a BMI that is(was) borderline obesity, I pay $278 per month (about twice the original quote on the website which was about $140.) I freelance. One of my jobs collects contributions from my employers into an account that I can use to reimburse my premium payments, and I was hoping that I'd be able to make enough to use that account to really pay toward my monthly health insurance. My financial situation has plummeted, however, and I am really struggling to keep my head above water for the first time since I moved out. Just looking for some outside input here. Health Insurance 15 years, now NO health insurance!?

I've had insurance since I've been on my own now, roughly 15 years. However thanks to Obamacare my insurance plan has been cancelled, so now I don't have insurance. Obamacare requires maturnity care, which of course mine didn't cover because I am a male. I looked into Obamacare but it was like 400 a month for me versus my other Blue Cross plan which was 175 a month and had almost little to no co-pay and a very low deductible. So someone explain to me how after all these years of hard work and having GREATTTTTT health insurance I have NO health insurance and basically don't want this bronze OVER priced piece of crap high deductible health insurance. If your broke, then you can't even afford the bronze because the deductibles are so high that it will bankrupt you and you won't get the subsidies until end of year so you can't afford it anyway LOL. I just bought a used car and had my fiance's mother finance it under her name because she got me a 7% APR which is really good compared to what I would have gotten. The finance guy at the dealership said to just have the car under her name to get that great rate and leave me off the loan completely. I will be making the payments, driving it, & insuring it. She is just the person who's name is on the title (so I could get that great APR rate) Now, I was just wondering, can I insure the vehicle under my policy even though my name is not on the title? I am kind of worried that my insurance company will not let me insure the car because my name is not on the title. Does anyone have any experiences or knowledge about this sort of thing? I own an auto repair shop, and I had an idea that I would like you all to help me with. What if there was a program where you paid a monthly premium like health insurance. Then, When you needed an oil change, fluid flush, light bulb, new alternator, new tires new brakes, new engine, or needed to fix an oil leak, you wouldn't have to pay anything you would just go in to get it fixed. What do you think would be a good rate for that monthly premium in everyone opinion? The rate would depend on whether you owned a car or truck, and wether or not it was 4wd. What do you all think?

Okay I'm a bit confused here so here it is: I'm taking my road driving test this January (I'm in TX BTW). One of the requirements is that I provide a car that has insurance. So my question is, does the insurance need to cover me as a driver as well? Or is it OK if the insurance covers the car and it's owner only (my friends' car) and it's only his name as the insured driver . I'm confused since he said I NEED to be covered by the car's insurance, but how can I be covered if I don't have the license yet (Insurance companies will only insure drivers with license) I tried calling the local DMV but you know what happens when you do... you are put on hold for the entire day. So can I just use his car (it is of course insured) or what? Or is this just another way of him saying You're not driving my car bud! haha. Thanks a lot!

A friend of mine is expecting her daughter to get a full-time job after graduation in summer of 2007. She is a 58-year old widow and doesnt have health insurance. She is planning to have her daughter claim her as a dependent in the coming tax year in order to cover her in her daughter companys health insurance once her daughter gets the job. I told her the above condition is impossible. Her daughter can claim her as a dependent, but not able to cover her in the group health insurance, such as company's health insurance. Does anyone know why a vehicle registration number doesn't show any vehicle info in an insurance quote search?

I witnessed my neighbour's son damage my car (which was parked outside my house) due to snow but by the time I got out he had already gone. So I didn't get the chance to get his registration number. I've been trying desperately to get his parents give me his registration number and insurance details or ask him to get in touch with me and they are not willing to cooperate. They are not disputing the fact but they are not giving me the information. This morning he parked his car on his parents' drive. Obviously I took the registration number and informed the policy and my insurance company. However, I tried to do a search requestin and insurance quote (just to get more info on his vehicle, such as size engine, make, type etc) but his registration number doesn't yield any information on the vehicle, as it normally happens when you look for a car insurance quote.
